The utility club of lyme
The Club
The Utility Club of Lyme (TUC) is a non-profit, charitable, educational and non-sectarian organization founded in 1914.
Our mission is to benefit the community of Lyme in diverse ways: through service, financial support and community activities.
Our programs are informative and give opportunity for connection, fun, and friendships.
Usefulness is Happiness
Fundraisers
We have a variety of fundraisers throughout the year…come join us this year for the Tenth Annual Tree Festival.
It is 10 years ago that Pat Pippin had the idea of having evergreen trees lit up around the Lyme Common. Never one to think of the road blocks, Pat set out, with the help of some Lyme groups like the Utility Club to make it happen. It happened! And it has continued ever since. Even during the pandemic since it was outside.
Starting at 1 pm on Dec 7, there will be the trees decorated by families, groups and businesses ringing the common. There is the visit by Santa at 3 pm. There are horse drawn sleigh rides around the common. There will be live music by Jerry Grimo and East By Jazz Band. Buy cookies, casseroles and soups to bring home for holiday entertaining or a quick ready made meal. And for this special edition of the Tree Festival there will a sculptor making an ice creation on the common. Maybe even a fire pit if we have snow
Come and enjoy this lovely tradition with us.
